Dobbs Pulls it Out Bottom of 8

Posted Thursday, May 06, 2010 by Chuck Devlin

Dobbs Ferry
7, Ardsley 6, 8: At Dobbs Ferry, winning pitcher Jacqueline Crews had the winning hit in the bottom of the eighth. Grete Falck-Pederson tied the game in the bottom of the seventh with a home run. Patricia Wootten had three hits and an RBI for Ardsley.

Over the Fence, Out of the Park home run...
With one run down in the bottom of the 7th, Grete Falck-Pederson hits a left/ center over the fence home run (second of the season) to tie the game and put some spark back into the Eagles. Ardsley not able to do anything in top eight, Casey Devlin starts the bottom off with a single and a second base steal. Next up, Nicole Cialini hits a single moving the winning run to third. Nicole steals second leaving Dobbs with no outs and an open base at first. At the plate, Jacqueline Crews rips one up the middle to drive in the winning run giving Dobbs the nail biting victory. The two teams may meet again Saturday May 15 at the four game Ardsley Tournament in Ardsley. Dobbs first game will start at 11 AM vs. Hastings HS. The winners of the first games will play each other at 2 PM, and the losers will do the same. My guess would be a match up between Dobbs vs. Ardsley for the Championship.

Next weeks schedule for the Lady Eagles: Monday 5/10, 4:30P League game at Hastings. Wednesday 5/12, 4:30P League game at Woodlands HS. Saturday 5/15 11am vs. Hastings at Ardsley Tournament with a second game at 2PM.
